Hi, I’m Reuben Grawert.
As a third-generation violin maker, it may come as a surprise that my passion for violin making started mostly by accident. While seeing my father, grandfather, and uncle making and repairing violins all my life definitely taught me about the craft, I never had much inclination to pursue it myself. It wasn’t until 2019 that I developed an interest and asked my father to show me a few things. After a year of experimentation I decided that this was unquestionably the path for me and dove in. From 2020-2026 I worked together with my father Ilja Grawert in his North Queensland workshop, and at the beginning of 2026 I moved to open a workshop on the Sunshine Coast.
